The Opportunity

The Accountant is responsible for the accurate recording of transactions in a busy environment where you will need to balance priorities and work efficiently to keep pace.  You will be valued for your accounting knowledge, trustworthiness, accuracy, and customer service skills equally.  You will work under the supervision of the Senior Accountant.

Responsibilities and Duties


  • Checking overtime
  • Assist Caregivers with payroll issues/ payroll corrections
  • Create bill batch
  • Sorting and mailing paychecks
  • Adding/editing W4s, address & direct deposit information in Preview
  • Processing receipts, parking tickets for Caregivers

Accounts Receivable

  • Make collection calls on past due accounts using a professional and helpful tone at all times
  • Record all contact and actions in the database clearly and thoroughly
  • Send corrected bills, late fee billings, and/or letters to customers as needed
  • Run weekly and monthly reports

Account Payable:

  • Collect and match supporting documents and purchase orders with vendor invoices
  • Enter invoices in accounting system as received
  • Note posted invoices on cash flow

Deposits and Credit Cards:

  • Ensure all deposits are proofed and deposited to the bank on a daily basis
  • Enter all checks and credit cards into the database and accounting system
  • Contact customer of any problems with debit/ credit processing
  • Send letter and return checks that are incorrect to the client


  • Prepare bi-weekly invoices, file company copies
  • Handle billing expectations and mailing as needed
  • Finalize Home Care billing
  • Assist customers with billing issues/ corrections

Month End:

  • Assist with monthly closing process
  • Perform Variance analysis
  • Assist with month end reconciliations


  • Various ad-hoc projects as needed


  • A bachelor’s degree in accounting
  • Minimum of 2 years of work experience in accounting
  • Proficiency in day-to-day operations such as A/P, A/R and Payroll
  • Excellent computer skills.  Fluency in Microsoft Office software packages, particularly Excel. Experience with accounting software and ClearCare (or similar database software) required
  • High energy, excellent interpersonal skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to multi-task and work independently
  • Strong organizational ability and detail orientation

Potential Compensation

This role will be part of the finance team with an annual cash compensation in the $47,000-$50,000 range.
