Job Summary
We are searching for a dedicated and detail-oriented Cash Accountant to support high-volume cash activity within the accounting department. HouseWorks is a rapidly growing home healthcare company, expanding through acquisitions across the Northeast. This position will handle cash-related functions, support accounts receivable and general accounting functions and would report directly to the Accounting Manager.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Monitor, record, and process daily cash activities, including receipts, disbursements, and bank deposits
- Perform weekly bank reconciliations in general ledger system
- Post payments to Accounts receivable and track required follow-up
- Apply or return client deposits at end of service
- Process client refunds
- Perform weekly 401k reconciliations
- Deposit paper checks received
- Process replacement ACH or checks for employees, as requested from payroll department
- Void checks, as required
- Maintain positive pay functions across multiple bank accounts
- Assist with financial audits by verifying cash-related transactions and providing necessary documentation
- Maintain and assist with month-end reconciliation schedules
- Complete ad hoc schedules/requests/analyses communicated by the accounting team leaders
- Perform additional activities, as needed, or as determined by supervisor based on availability

- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel
- Proficiency in NetSuite is a plus
- Hybrid (3+ days in office per week)
